Samsung One UI 3.0 & 3.1 Eligible Devices, Release Date and New Features

 

Samsung’s One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 is now available for several Samsung devices. This new OS version is packed with some new features. It is currently available for the new Note 20, Galaxy S20, Note 10, S10 and many more devices. New app optimization system, smooth UI, new features are now part of One UI 3.0. But apart from all these things, there are a lot more interesting things available about One UI 3.0 that you should know.



What’s New in One UI 3.0?

You might not find any special changes in the design. But in terms of features, you can find plenty of new ones. You can long-press on any particular app to organize its widget and can add it on the home screen. Double-tapping anywhere on the screen will lock the device. 

Now you can get better exposure and auto-focus controls in the camera. The new customization call screen is also something new that users might try out. On the call screen, you will be able to put an image or a video, and some new Bixby routines will not appear too. Similar to these, there are plenty of new features are available, so here’s the full information about new features:

Home Screen

  • Tap and hold on any particular app to add a widget.
  • Double press on the home screen to turn off the light or lock the display. To turn on this feature, go into Settings>Advanced Settings>Motions and gestures.

 

Quick Panel

  • Swipe down to see media and conversations more easily in their certain sections.

 

Lock Screen

  • Improved Widgets.
  • The Dynamic Lock screen has now improved and has more categories.

 

Accessibility

  • Now it’s easy to set up new accessibility shortcuts.
  • Access the necessary accessibility settings while setting up the device. Based on what the user uses a lot, they will get better recommendations.

 

Samsung Dex

  • The multi-gesture touchpad will allow the user to change font size and screen zoom easily.
  • Connecting with wireless TVs is now easier.

 

Samsung Keyboard

  • Finding keyboard settings is easier now. You can find keyboard settings in General management next to Settings.

 

Internet

  • Maximum opening tab limit is now 99.
  • You can now block the sites by simply pressing the back button.
  • To make the browsing more convenient, you can now hide the status bar.
  • Customize menus as per your choice, and add several new options including translate websites.
  • Tab bar is now improved and is available for every device.
  • You can now rearrange and lock the browser tabs.

 

Messages 

  • Trash bin is now available to store deleted messages.

 

Phone/Contacts

  • Search bar is now improved.
  • Deleting duplicate contacts is now easier.

 

Phone /Call Background

  • You can now customize your call screen by adding videos and photos.

 

Calendar 

  • You can now reorganize and edit the events. 
  • Multiple events with similar timing will now appear together.

 

Camera 

  • Stability while taking at high zoom is now improved.
  • Auto exposure and autofocus are now improved.

 

Bixby Routine

Several new actions are now available, including accessibility actions and interaction with Bixby.

New conditions like disconnection of Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth device, particular start time or special caller number are now added.

You can check the reversed actions after a certain routine ends.

Set new icons for a particular routine, and add it to the lock screen to access quickly.

The recently launched Flagship Samsung smartphones are running on the latest One UI 3.0, but the lower modes might take some time to get the update. Here is the list of models and when the new update will arrive on them.

Conclusion

The One UI 3.0 is currently available in Samsung’s several higher range smartphones, but they are still working on One UI 3.1 update. The Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+ and S20 Ultra are running on One UI 3.1, and hopefully, other devices will get this update pretty soon.
