Poster of Texas Chainsaw Massacre Reboot: First Look of New Leatherface

Recently, the upcoming movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s reboot poster was released. And fans are very excited about the first look of the new Leatherface.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the slasher film directed by Tobe Hooper and released in 1974. The plot of the film follows a group of friends who became the victim of a cannibal family. The film is based on the true-crime story by the murderer Ed Gein, but the plot is mostly fictional. It stars Paul A. Pertain, Edwin Neal, Marilyn Burns, Gunnar Hansen, and Jim Siedow.

The 1974 film was very violent and brutal; hence many countries banned the film’s release in their theatres. The movie has been R-rated by the Motion Picture Association of America. However, despite being banned, the project did outstanding business and collected a gross of $150.8 million against a budget of $30 million. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is known as one of the most influential horror films at that time.

The franchise later released sequels and prequels of the film, and Leatherface also made his place in video games and comic books.

The reboot of the franchise is aiming to create horror for the new generation of fans. The movie is produced by Fede Alvarez, known for his work in Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead, and a short film Ataque de Pacino! The new poster of TCM creates much speculation around the modern Leatherface and how it will look.

The movie’s poster gives a vague idea of the human face behind the mask and is inspired by impressionism, a 19-century art form. The eyes and jaw area of the mask are distorted, while the poster is captioned, “In 1974, the world witnessed one of the most bizarre crimes in the annals of American history. In 2021, the face of madness returns.”

However, the team has not revealed much about the plot and other details regarding the reboot project, but director Alvarez’s involvement is enough to believe that he will do justice to the sequel. He might also plan to take a different path to amplify the movie’s quality and horror elements. It will not be easy to change the story’s direction or give it a slightly different turn as the original film fans will not be happy with the idea.

The movie has many remakes, sequels, and reboots, and making a new impact on the franchise without repeating the mistakes is quite challenging.

We hope the reboot will be thoughtful about its fanbase and will serve something interesting to the audience.
