The
natural extension of Alexa’s timer feature, the Echo Wall Clock, produced by
Amazon, is a distinct Alexa-enabled device slaying the market these days. In
this article, you will learn how to set up an Echo Wall Clock and troubleshoot
some of the common problem’s users face.
Set
a Timer
The Echo Wall Clock lets you visually monitor the
countdown to your alarms and reminders set on multiple Alexa devices. For
example, you have to fix an alarm for 30 minutes; this smart clock will
represent the countdown with 30 light marks placed around this fantastic
clock’s face.
The
Echo Wall Clock can be truly beneficial for you if you use Alexa within a loud
environment. So, if you have ever missed your alarm because of the loud TV or
your kid’s music, then this is the right gizmo for you. Also, it is highly
useful if you or any family member have hearing impairments.
Pair
the Echo Wall Clock
You can only pair the Amazon Echo Wall Clock with a
single device, unlike other Alexa-compatible devices that can be paired with
multiple devices at a single point. The Echo wall clock can be connected to all
the Echo, Echo Show, Echo Plus, Echo Dot, Echo Spot, or Echo Input devices.
Ideally, you should put your Echo Wall Clock in the room where the paired Echo
device is kept. So that you will be able to see the timer on your wall clock,
relayed by the paired Echo device. Follow the steps below for pairing your Echo
Wall Clock:
Step 1. Announce, “Set up my Echo Wall Clock” on the
paired Echo device.
Step 2. Press and hold the blue-colored pairing
button behind the clock to put it into pairing mode. You will notice the LED
turns orange after about ten seconds.
Step 3. Now, your smart clock will enter the pairing
mode with a pulsing blue LED. Also, the hands of the clock may swivel a few
times. The whole pairing process will get successful in a few minutes.
Step 4. Once paired with your preferred Echo device,
the LED will turn off. Now, you can fix a timer using the usual Alexa command,
that is, “Hey Alexa, fix a timer for five minutes.” With this, your Echo Wall
Clock should lighten up.
Step 5. You can set numerous timers with different
names given to them, and you will see your smart Wall Clock displaying the
different timers as distinct points. You can also clear all the timers using
the obvious command, “Hey Alexa, remove all the timers.”
Unable
to connect?
In case you are unable to communicate with your
smart Wall Clock, you may try the fixes mentioned below:
Set
the Bluetooth Again
Step 1. Download and install the Amazon Alexa app on
your phone or other compatible devices.
Step 2. Open the app and tap on the “Devices” tab,
followed by “Echo & Alexa.”
Step 3. Find and tap on the name of the Echo device
that is paired to your Echo Wall Clock.
Step 4. From the list of options that appears, tap
on the option named “Bluetooth Devices.”
Step 5. Find and tap on the name of your wall clock.
Step 6. Now, tap “Forget Device.”
Afterward, set it up again and check if the issue
has been resolved or not.
Disable
Multi-Room Music
In case your Echo Wall Clock is experiencing
troubles while connecting to an Alexa-enabled speaker, it could be because your
speaker is paired in a Multi-Room Music group. To resolve this, you will have
to eliminate the speaker from the Music group, and then check your smart Wall
Clock by pairing it to another Alexa-compatible device.
So, unpair your current device, and then pair your
Echo Wall Clock with a different Alexa-compatible device using the directions
provided above.
